Returning To Therapy with Startling Results

RE: Returning To Therapy with Startling Results
Well I bumped up my pressures last night and to my surprise I slept pretty darn good. Now I also  also for the first time, switched to using the ClimateLineAir™ Heated Tubing which allowed me to set my air temp down to a soothing 74 degrees while increasing my humidity up to 8. FINALLY I was able to only take my mask off for a minute or two to put on chapstick and add a tiny bit of Saline gel to each nostril. After suffering such horrific sinus infections that led to 2 surgeries in 2011 and 2012 that literally had all my doctors and surgeons insist I stop any & ALL form of PAP treatment, I am being hyper vigilant this time. I know it likely hurts my score to pop off the mask and do this but I want to be comfortable.
Also On this night, I switched from the regular AirFit F20 over to the oh so soft AirTouch F20 Mask
Now this mask lets me take the higher pressure I never thought I could deal with and made it like a marshmellow on my face. I swear it is actually a comforting feeling. WHY do they make it SO expensive and delicate. I swear I can't imagine wearing ANYTHING else after last night...

Footnote #2-My Garmin says I only got 4.0 hours of "DEEP" sleep. Well so be it, I stuck my toungue out at it cuz whatever sleep I had, it was so much more of a healthy sleep it is simply a whole new world. Even my wife Trish has stopped crying but has a couple tears of relief. Not seeing her cry is the BEST present of all to me.

But got my best numbers. At least I THINK I did? But still SO confused since it doesn't show "Central Apnea and I am just guessing still as to what the heck....

So after turning up the pressure and trying to cope with better PS (Pressure Support right?) Belowis the result. Now please, don't tell me I had a thousand central Apneas and died in my sleep:-)

Who gives a flying . . . . .
If you are awake enough to intentionally remove and replace your mask getting comfortable you are not getting sleep therapy then anyway.  What really matters is that you are feeling better.   There are two phases to therapy, the Machine (numbers, showing improvement) and then, at least equally as important, and likely more important, is your comfort with the system and everything else.
NEVER HESITATE to ask any question you may have.

OldMarineOceanside,

Here's wishing to your success on the therapy. And if I didn't post otherwise, welcome to Apnea Board. When you get bonjour and Sleeprider involved, you will get all the help possible. Not that others cannot help, just saying they come to mind as being great assistance when I needed it. Yes, I'm certain others did lots to help me via pointers, kick in pants, etc. We all work as a great team here.

Thanks Dave.

And I see you are going with a trial with the spine. Curious how that goes. I was cleared for it, passed the psyc etc, Insuranged signed off and was even scheduled. Then discovered that Lyme Disease was present in my blood and they began a war saying it is impossible to get Lyme Disease here in Oceanside. yeah GENIUS doctors! So, they had to call it off since SO much damage to me cused by it they won't risk any further surgery. It was my great last hope to get OFF the heavy Fentanyl and Methadone etc for pain. Got oh SO cose darn it...

RE: Returning To Therapy with Startling Results
I am SO curious to see what happens when the antique ASV arrives. Looks like Wed ETA. But this will drive me over the edge wondering WHAT is going on. Hopefully the sender will get me the info I need so I can go on the hunt for the software and hardware I need. I already downloaded Encore Basic in case it will be compatible but he wants me to get Pro version and I donated that, not getting it back. Plus her says I need some huge credit card size adapter plus some type reader etc. Now all THIS is why I just LOVE the newer Resmeds.

RE: Returning To Therapy with Startling Results
You're very welcome. I will post out about that spinal stim device process in Off topic in future as it indirectly ties into how I will be doing medically going forward. FWIW my back and CPAP therapy and sleeping are definitely tied together. Each area helps or hinders the other areas depending in any given day.
