Assume you did everything right during disassembling and assembling, you still need to reset blower hours according to the manual.

I had my grandson swap out the blower motor that I bought on Amazon. That seemed very easy. It runs no prob but stops after 30 seconds or so with the error message to contact the technical support folks. It sounds like I need to get inside the software and reset the hours on the motor.

I've replaced quite a few S10 motors and didn't have to reset data to have them work correctly. I do not think you can reset blower motor hours unless you can run a boot loader on the board (resmed can)...

Mburkhar02 - With it being an S9, how many hours are on it?

RE: Resmed S9 Autoset an error message after changing the motor
I read somewhere, perhaps here, that it is possible to install the motor "backwards", which is an odd expression, since it's cylindrical, but if it is in backwards, you get an error message.

I think saying it went in upside down might be more accurate. The slightly tapered end with the hole is outermost and the end with the ridge around the hole is innermost. See at time 6:03 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpWD_5_YLzs for the orientation. Also look at reassembly wire routing at 7:13 and alignment of pressure sensors at 7:41 for board replacement. And power plug orientation at 7:55. That Molex plug should not fit in any way but the proper way, but check the wire colours vs. the video.

I doubt the logic board is sophisticated enough to address the identity of one motor over the other (e.g. it is doubtful that the logic board knows it was changed at all) and they don't stop at the excess hours warning even if not reset. The motor could be the wrong one - that is a remote possibility but they are the same for S9 and S10 and the wrong fit of a motor would be obvious, you'd think.
