Large Leaks
Hello, I know this is a common problem but it's been a while since I've perused the topic and unfortunately don't remember much from before. I've been having consistent leaks (usually around 5-15%) for a couple weeks and am wondering what I can do to fix it. Is this likely from the tightness on my mask? Thanks.

RE: Large Leaks
These look like mouth leaks because your leak chart shows flat tops and not spikes (flat tops indicate mouth leaks and spikes indicate mask leaks). Things to try would be mouth tape, the "tongue suck" method - try to keep the tongue on the back roof of the mouth and suck to make a tight seal. With practice it is supposed to be sustainable all night. Last resort would be getting a full face mask (then the mouth leaks would not bother you nearly as much).

RE: Large Leaks
Thanks a lot! I do mouth tape but have noticed a bit of drooling when I wake up, so maybe I need to use stronger tape or cover up my mouth more completely. Thanks so much!

RE: Large Leaks
you could also try a chinstrap or well-fitting soft cervical collar, in addition to taping with a bit more intent/with a different tape.

RE: Large Leaks
I have fought with mouth leaks for years. Tried just about every full face mask there is going back around 25 years and none of them worked. So I started using the Somnifix mouth strips which lowered my leaks some. 2 months ago I switched to using the Cover Roll Stretch tape and my leaks disappeared. Great stuff. You just have to be careful not to try pulling it off to fast. I dog ear one corner of it to make it easier to grab to pull off, especially if some kind of problem happened such as you had to regurgitate or the power goes out. LankyLefty has a video on his youtube channel you can watch about this tape.

RE: Large Leaks
Are the leaks waking you up? I have some leakage then large leaks at the end of the night. They are not waking me up, don't know I'm having them so does it matter?
