Seeking help with O2 report/OSCAR

I have searched and read my Thread Subject of this post here and read the Wiki article on the topic but still failed to find the way to insert an O2 Insight Pro report to OSCAR on a MacBook M2 Sonoma OS.  The usual file menus do not appear on the app and when I take the route OSCAR > Daily Report > Data > Viatom Wellue, no usable file appears.  Under Finder, no files are available under the O2 Insight Pro app.

I recall getting O2 reports to a PC a good while ago, but I am failing to find the path to success on this MacBook.  I remember what the files look like (set of numbers) but can't find them nor do I know how to move them into position for OSCAR insertion if I find them.

If someone can tell me the way in user-friendly terms, please advise.  I can follow instructions that are given as a click path with > between items to click. e.g. OSCAR > Daily Report > Data > ? > ? > etc.

Thank y'all for your wonderful help on this forum.  Online help like this is the only source I have to better my CPAP therapy. (no help from doc nor DME)

I took the click path Finder > cmd-shift-G > ~/Library (typed to the file selection dialog) > return  This revealed a great number of file folders with none looking like an O2 Insight Pro report nor any of the session file locations above, e.g.  /Users/YourUserNameHere/Library/Containers/com.viatom.O2PCViewer-BLE/Data/Library/Application Support/O2_Insight_Pro/DATA/SerialNumber/

Clear Mac instructions for what is required to insert an O2 Insight Pro report to an OSCAR Daily needs a click path expressed step by step with the symbol > between clicks and comman entries.  Example: OSCAR > Daily Report > Data > Viatom Wellue > Finder > Command Shift G > ~/Library > or whatever the path is to get the data into OSCAR.

I only use a macOS to build OSCAR, and that is a virtual machine on my Linux box.  You need to wait on an experienced Mac user for any further help. . . Or get a Windows computer.

I have a Windows PC but it sits mostly idle now due to obsolescence and slowness.  My MacBook has been a wonderful leap forward for me in laptops due to its speed, lightweight, cool temp operation, and a few great apps.  It was a return to Mac for me after a 35 year absence.  It would be nice to have my O2 drops right over/under other OSCAR data but until I get clear instructions..it won't happen.

The O2 Insight Pro Support reply on the topic of insertion of data to OSCAR was a pre written nothing that addressed a defective product. ??  I wonder if they even know how to get a Mac to insert O2 data.

After much effort, I have failed to get binary O2 Ring files imported to OSCAR.  No replies for tech support for file importing have arrived.  I did find out that Viatom and Wellue are located in China and Lookee is their US rep in New York.  

I have attempted to follow the Wikiapnea directions for finding the files repeatedly without success getting error beeps with each attempt.

If any Mac user out there has done this file transfer process successfully, please reply.

In another attempt to find the hidden O2 Ring data files, I found that from a search of the Library in Finder I cannot get past Users/My name/  If I attempt to enter L for Library the files list goes blank, no files found.

Slammed right now with new year stuff(!!!), so I can't really take part in an ongoing thread, but I was perusing the board during a break, and thought maybe I could help…

I'm not sure this is the best way around this, but this is what I did…

- Open Finder window

- Navigate to your user directory
/Users/YourUserName

- Click on the "Go" menu tab on top of screen
- Hold down the option key and click on library folder

- From here you should be able to locate your data folder using the path(s) that crimson nape listed.
- Double Click on the "Containers" folder
- Double Click on either "com.viatom.O2PCViewer-BLE" OR "O2_Insight_Pro"
- etc. until you get to DATA

- From the DATA folder (with your serial number folder listed), drag the serial number folder over to the sidebar.

- Now go into OSCAR and click on Data --> Import Viatom/Wellue Data

- Select your serial number folder from the sidebar, and then you can click on individual days, or multiple days using command key.

- Once you successfully import data, OSCAR will remember the location, so you could now delete the serial number folder from the sidebar, by dragging it off (leaves data folder intact).  I choose to leave it there, because sometimes (usually after an upgrade), OSCAR will forget, and I need to find it again.

On a side note, since upgrading to OSCAR 1.5.1, I haven't been able to import any SPO2 data.  After selecting files and hitting Open, OSCAR crashes.

I can start a new thread in a couple of weeks when things calm down, but was curious if anybody else was seeing this??

I followed:

Double Click on the "Containers" folder
- Double Click on either "com.viatom.O2PCViewer-BLE" OR "O2_Insight_Pro"

- Now go into OSCAR and click on Data --> Import Viatom/Wellue Data

Here's my path and what it brings to the screen:

Finder > Go > Library > Containers > (Here the only folders that begin with com. are com.apple folders, none have com.viatom in their name.

Clicking on any Folder under Containers shows a single Data folder.  Clicking any Data folder found by this path reveals the Main Menu of Finder Folders, that is, loops back to the Main Menu of Finder Folders. 

I have done searches in Library for any file containing Viatom, insight pro, or the year/month/day etc. numbers with zero results.   From what I gather, the O2 files either do not exist on the Mac HD or they have a name yet to be determined.  

Please let me know if you find the click path to O2 ring folders downloaded to a Mac.

I’m using an O2 Ring in conjunction with OSCAR running it on a iMac under Sonoma 14.2.1.  Data imports just fine, but initially it did take a bit of exasperation and searching to find the O2 ring data directory - so stick with it!  

Directory path from root of hard drive for my setup is as follows -

Macintosh HD  > Users > WisNaeMe > Library > Containers > O2_Insight_Pro >  Data > Library > Application Support > O2_Insight_Pro > DATA > 23062C0956 > you’ll find your data here!

I might be worth giving this path a go, as it looks like the alternative path (…com.viatom) doesn’t work for you.

The emboldened directory names should reflect your Mac User Name and the ring’s ten-digit Serial Number. 



To navigate to the data directory, I would suggest following SleepyMac’s instructions -

Access the (hidden) ~/Library directory from within Finder (i.e. Finder + Option key > Go > Library).  

Navigate to the data directory by trying the path above.

Then (when found) drag and drop the SerialNumber directory onto Favourites (on the Finder sidebar).  That way you’ll be able to access the data files more easily from within OSCAR (when you get to that stage), as it will then appear on the Data > Viatom/Wellue Data Import window sidebar.


As background- 

The O2 Ring data files are named in the format  YYYYMMDDHHMMSS  so might look like this - 20240107150545 

If your O2 Ring date / time has got out of sync or is incorrect (it does this quite regularly!), then you can rename the file to reflect the actual date and time when the session started and it will import into OSCAR aligned properly.  Alternatively you can just regularly re-sync the ring with your computer’s clock using the O2 Insight Pro app.

Also - Import the O2 Ring data into OSCAR, using the Import Viatom/Wellue Data option from the Data dropdown menu.  Don’t use the Oximetry Wizard option.
