Does EPAP react quicker on ASV compared to VAuto?
I have both the resmed ASV and VAuto and was expirencing with the same EPAP setting for both machines. I noticed that I can get away with a low EPAP setting (such as 6) with no OSA events but if I set the VAuto to the same low EPAP settings, some OSA events will occur.
These are my consistent findings and just wanted to know why?

RE: Does EPAP react quicker on ASV compared to VAuto?
The asv raises ps on every breath and it can be sufficient to blow through an obstructive apnoea before it scores a flag
RE: Does EPAP react quicker on ASV compared to VAuto?
That makes sense but I also forgot to mention that I set similar PS settings as well for both machines . The PSmax on the ASV is the same setting as the fixed PS setting for the VAuto so that the ASV would not have an advantage in correcting an event

Take a look at the mask pressure and you will see the Vauto follows your respiration and remains at EPAP if you don't spontaneously initiate inhale, while the ASV will apply pressure support without your leading effort.

Thanks sleeprider. I will review mask pressure when I get home. I still have a difficult time understanding the mask pressure graph and how one can use it to set trigger settings such as if a breath is being cut off. Is there any detailed explanation out there on how to read the mask pressure graph?
