Sleep Pillow (Hack for less leaks and a good sleep)

Sleep Pillow (Hack for less leaks and a good sleep)

There are few important facts for great Cpap treatment, proper machine & settings, great mask + pillow that gives the person a decent sleep.
I thought I would share this for newbies and seasoned Cpap users who sleep mostly on their sides  but have leaks. Not saying this is the best solution to leaks but it might help those with lots of mask leaks.
I like to use my favourite thinner pillow that supports my best breathing posture that is not to wide so when laying on my side it does not bump mask to allowing mask leakage. My pillow one end folded downwards towards book head board  + shorter pillow foot print.(Childrens pillow could work also?)
I have been looking at Possibly cpap  pillows recently(not many forum threads on pillows) and most  are made usually from memory foam but I guess I'm set in my ways for just a regular pillow guy.  My wife likes those pink pillow cases so it could look a little odd a color to some.  Wink
To wide a length  regular pillow that cradles the head, has a tendency to shift the mask a little and leaks could start and machine has to increase pressures to compensate.
Just thinking out loud how a little inexpensive change might help a person!
Have some great sleeps!

RE: Sleep Pillow (Hack for less leaks and a good sleep)
Thanks for sharing.  I wanted to add that I had a lot of leaks until I put a silk pillowcase on my pillow (cost about $10 on Amazon).  It was a game changer for me.  I move my head around a lot when I sleep which caused my mask to leak during the night.  I would wake up a lot to adjust my mask.  I couldn't tighten it anymore and it was uncomfortable.  The first night with the silk pillowcase was a dream!  Now, my headgear easily slides on the pillow, and I was able to loosen my straps without causing leaks.  While pillows are a personal choice, I think I tried almost all of them and landed on the Cushion Lab Deep Sleep Pillow (also bought from Amazon).  It's expensive but it worked for me.  Regardless, definitely try the silk pillowcase!!!  Please let me know if you try the silk pillowcase and if it worked for you.  73

Congratulations on your success, Canuck 2! I suspect that small, subtle things like that can make a huge difference. It is only a matter of millimeters that makes the difference between sleep apnea, snoring, and restful sleep!

Thanks for the input @Fsudal, silk pillow case is a good idea, will have to look into buying a silk pillow case. I'm using a flannel pillow case presently for winter sleeping pleasure. Silk has excellent properties for summer and winter sleeping also, will have to try it.
There are a lot folks with leaking mask issues and head sleep pillows can give issues for head gear slightly moving or shifting, anything that helps is a plus IMO!
A better visual picture of what I meant to try.

Merry Christmas to all!
