[Diagnosis] How's my chart looking?
#11
RE: How's my chart looking?
@Sleepy Quixote

Thanks so much I appreciate it. As you suggested I've been wearing a cheap Amazon chinstrap the last couple of nights, before I purchase a better one. I hope it has been helping.

I've been using the P30i since around 21st July and the leak rate has been lowest the last couple of nights wearing the chin strap.

I'm not sure what is an acceptable leak rate number?

And here's yesterdays nap / last nights sleep chart:

@outasleep

Your leak rate looks much better, good job. I don't really know what is considered acceptable vs not, just that larger leaks diminish therapy efficacy.
Your Flow limitations are still a bit high and may be able to be reduced some if you bump up your minimum pressure a bit. Rather than jumping straight to your median, I would bump it up in small increments and observe the changes in Flow Limitations. Try 7.2 for a couple of days, if the effects are positive and doesn't cause sleep disturbances bump it up again to 7.4, if the Flow Limitations reduce further then continue to the point you aren't gaining benefit. At that point it becomes comfort vs therapeutic improvement. Higher pressure usually means more issues with leaks and sleep disturbance, another thing to keep in mind is reducing Flow Limitations also reduces the number of pressure changes both in frequency and amplitude. Fewer pressure adjustments by the machine means less sleep disturbance for you. We try to get flow limitations to around .06 or better. Pay closer attention to FL than AHI, lower AHI usually follows lower flow limits.

Also be aware that a significant proportion of apnea events can be purely positional, chin tucking, too many pillows, too soft of pillows, no pillows, curling up in a ball, etc etc, just more stuff to add into your treatment formula.

Good luck, keep at it, that's how we get good at it!
