Snoozequest - Therapy Thread

RE: Snoozequest - Therapy Thread
As stated by others, your minimum pressure (currently 6) is likely too low. Try higher, at least 7.

Thanks for the reply, Fly By Night!

To clarify, the only issue I am currently experiencing are some CA events (occasionally appearing in clusters). Are you suggesting that I raise my base pressure to resolve CA events? I have not heard of that before (I have heard of turning off EPR or lowering base pressure, but then again I am new here).

Thanks!

I agree setting your EPR to at least 1 and minimum pressure to 7 or 8. Turn off ramp unless you feel you need it. However, why do you need cpap or apap for such a low AHI for central apneas?

Hey there thanks for the reply,

The numbers that you are seeing are from Oscar, ie they are my numbers while receiving CPAP (APAP) treatment.

Without treatment I have an AHI of 7 comprised mostly of obstructive hypopneas.

RE: Snoozequest - Low tidal volume and breathing flattening
Hi all!

Wanted some help interpreting an Oscar chart.

What is attached below was not flagged as an event in Oscar, but what ever was going on did cause me to wake up an I stopped and started my machine to mark the time for this morning.

What I think I see is quite a low tidal volume for a period (in the 180 range) and some flattening out/choppiness of the flow rate. What am I looking at here?

Hi all,

Posting another Oscar chart example from last night. Looking for any insight on this period of very low tidal volume (down around 100), and the pattern in the flow rate.

Is this basically a near-hypopnea that is going undetected? When these happen I often wake up a short time after...

Based off your numbers, it could be you turning just as you're waking up. Don't overanalyze your data. If you go looking for problems, you will find them. You're not a machine and need to expect variances. Everyone has them. At the AHI level you are displaying, the more important criterion is, how do you feel?

Very well put, we often forget this.
