RE: Aircurve 11 ASV cant tell I'm breathing.
Just a friendly reminder. You still need to post OSCAR charts. Pictures are worth a thousand words.
Mask Primer
Positional Apnea
Attach OSCAR, etc.

Yes, I will get oscar going asap, will be looking for a PC today. Thankyou for reminder.
RE: Aircurve 11 ASV cant tell I'm breathing.
Actually, there is a lot we can do without Oscar, but we do need to know your current settings for mode, EPAP min, EPAP max, PS min and PS max. That lets us try some things and your feedback on AHI and how you feel will let us know if we're on the right path.

Ok.....Here is what is written on my documents.
I will next endeavor to upload screenshots of Oscar data (?)
Bi-level, auto.
Vauto
Min epap 7
Max ipap 17
PS 7
I tried zero ramp time...No bueno, 30 min worked best.
I tried settling in and relaxing before powering up machine, this did help.
Still have to purposely adapt to machines breathing pattern during awakenings, if I want to avoid having to re-start.
AHI was 0.1 last night.
2 weeks ago, I began sleeping on my recliner, which has made the AHI drop significantly.
Thankyou in advance.
RE: Aircurve 11 ASV cant tell I'm breathing.
Those are not ASV settings, they are spontaneous bilevel settings. The need to actually know your settings is important to get you on the right path and correct what appears to be be errors in the setup of your device. On your machine, the only modes available are ASV, ASVauto and CPAP. What is it? You should have EPAP min and EPAP max, and PS min and PS max. That's it. Here is a tutorial on accessing your settings. You don't need to change anything, just tell us what you see

RE: Aircurve 11 ASV cant tell I'm breathing.
Got it,
here is what I see on my machine,
Mode ASVAuto
EPAP Range 6.0 - 10.0
PS Range 3.0 - 15.0
RE: Aircurve 11 ASV cant tell I'm breathing.
Sounds like this is VAuto, especially since that's the mode mentioned.
Where did you get the machine, and was it supposed to be ASV? If so, the seller gave a wrong machine, accidental or intentional. If you bought it used somewhere expecting ASV, again wrong machine.
Mask Primer
Positional Apnea
Attach OSCAR, etc.

RE: Aircurve 11 ASV cant tell I'm breathing.
Sleeprider prompted me to get the info directly from my machine, here is what I saw.
This machine was supplied by my equipment provider / doctor.
Mode ASVAuto
EPAP Range 6.0 - 10.0
PS Range 3.0 - 15.0
RE: Aircurve 11 ASV cant tell I'm breathing.
Now that looks correct! Your complaint is that you are being awakened at night and the machine is forcefully trying to make you take breaths. We can lower the maximum PS to as low as 8.0 which will still give you pressure support on inhale. What we need to observe if we lower the maximum PS is whether you end up with significantly more events (higher AHI) based on your machine sleep report. If you want to try this, change he maximum PS setting to between 8.0 and 10.0 cm and give it a trial.
