Try getting a chinstrap. I would bet that you are intermittently swallowing air, which isn't uncommon when you are getting used to the machine. I doubt that EPR will help that much on a consistent basis. I would doubt that the EPR could get turned off by a power outage.

Can her machine be reset by the data card if information is written on it? Seems as though there was someone else whose machine reset when she/he put in the card. A power outage would be the same thing, wouldn't it?

Resmed machines come back on when power returns to where you have them set prior to a power outage. If it was running, it should come back up running unless you have it set Easystart/stop to on, in which case if it won't be running until you breath in again. I put my machine on a timer every week (with Easystart/off turned off), to turn on and off, at certain times because of my Sabbath observance. Unless there was a power surge from lightening and your machine would be fried, it is hard to imagine your EPR was turned off by a power outage.

Hi everyone....

Just to give an update - where I live, if you require a CPAP machine you are provided a loaner for as long as you need it (which is fantastic). But, because it is a loaner and not your own, they require that all changes to the machine go through your specialist and then a prescription is written to authorized dealers that can make the changes to the machine. This includes turning on/off the EPR setting (which I find very irritating as the way I understand it this feature turned on will either help you or it won't whereas having it turned off doesn't help anyone). That being said, everything appears to still be working properly.

I put some pillows under the mattress topper on the head of my bed and the last two nights I have had very good sleeps and no signs of nausea or tummy pains. Thank goodness because it was aweful to experience. I am going to keep the extra pillows there until the weekend. If all goes well I will have my husband put some 2x4's under the front posts so that the bed is elevated and my husband doesn't have to be propped up with all the pillows too lol. Thanks so much for the suggestions.

I am going to go to the sites suggested and learn more on the software. I also am going to take the SD card into the authorized dealer that I have been going to and they will forward the information on to my specialist. That way he can see if maybe my settings require changing.

I'm glad things are going better for you, Cindy. If I were you I'd turn the EPR on anyway. You could just turn it back off before you return it.

If my pressure is too low, I get nausea. I suspect it's either due to something akin to reflux from struggling to breathe or the affects of low O2 or sleep disturbance.
