Taking Xyrem: what are these respiratory rate spikes

Taking Xyrem: what are these respiratory rate spikes
Hi there
I take two doses of Xyrem (sodium oxybate) each night for Idiopathic hypersomnia. Sometimes I wake up feeling refreshed, other days I feel awful. But I can’t find a reason for it.
I’m curious about my respiratory rate for each dose of xyrem. What do the peaks in resp rate mean?

The second graph is a night where I didn’t take xyrem. It doesn’t have high peaks. They are quite different!  My normal sleep does not refresh me, I can sleep up to 20 hours a day. Xyrem is helping a lot but it’s inconsistent.

DebJ, please read the link in my signature that describes how to Organize Your Oscar Charts. It includes organization, taking screenshots and how to zoom in on data. It is far superior to taking a picture of your screen. The answer to your question is going to lie in the close details of the flow rate data. It will help if you can capture a zoom with a good resolution of the flow (3-4 minutes) where the flow wave and any variation is easily visible. At that resolution we can see the variation over the 3 to 4 minutes of captured data and see how the rate, volume or evenness of breathing is affected. There is a periodicity to the spikes in your screenshot, and the only way to interpret that is to see what is going on up-close.

This chart is when I take xyrem 2x a night.
It used to work really well for me, but not as much now and I don’t know why.

Ok I’ll do that. The graph that had the two peaks didn’t upload. Here it is - this is my sleep when taking xyrem.
I zoomed out to show the overall shape, and how odd it looks compared to when I don’t dose.
