STORY
Environment: Beefy new MSI Stealth 15" using a stock built-in mini-HDMI port to connect to an external HP business class monitor with two USB ports.
Experience:
- Goals: Install and use OSCAR as expected, nothing usual.
- First day: OSCAR installed and operated on first run with Zero noticeable issues.
- Second, third & ... day (consistent fail): OSCAR freezes on load (I recall already seeing this discussed so not expecting that I am reporting any new issue).
- Super low cost Every Day Workaround: I simply unplug the mini-HDMI before I open OSCAR. OSCAR performs magnificently.
- The work around is fine. Looks like net-net OSCAR provides great value.
- Not sure the MSI built-in mini-HDMI has anything to do with the USB ports in the monitor or the USB ports inside the MSI Stealth (however I have not studied any schematics to confirm). So a potential value of the post is that the issue may not be just with internal USB ports but maybe other bus items as well.
- I am good now, but let me know if you want to try something else in the config or ....
