SD card
My current CPAP machine is a ResMed Airsense10, where the usage data is sent to ResMed via an integrated cellular modem. I access my data though the myAir website. For times when I travel, I have the ResMed AirMini with a Pilot battery pack. For the past 3 years I have kept a spreadsheet with usage data -- just the simple data that I get that shows hours/minutes of daily use and number of events per hour. Having joined this board, I have been made aware of Oscar and that data can be written by the CPAP machine to an SD card. My question is: is the SD card mutually exclusive to the myAir website? i.e., if I install the SD card will my machine cease to send my data to ResMed?
TIA

The SD card will not affect the limited data transmitted to your MyAir account. -- Red

RE: SD card
Hi blkmagikca, we also had this question and just found this forum.
We understand the SD card is a separate way of accessing data. While the unit's internal cell sends info to the myAir website, this transmitted data is limited. The SD card holds much more information that can be accessed through OSCAR. Installing an SD card will not prevent the cell service from working as intended. My husband's new ResMed 11 (I still have a 10) did not come with an SD card (located on the left side of the CPAP machine behind a little panel). Check first, in case there was one there the whole time. If you have a card there, you're lucky because years of back information will have been written to it. If not, you can purchase an SD card, but you will not have the previous dates of detailed information, BUT you will get information from the new SD card insertion date moving forward. This elementary information is for others who are new like we were:

RE: SD card
Thank you for your reply. I purchased a 5-pack of 32Gb SD cards and I just loaded one of them into my Aursense10. The screen showed that the CPAP machine "prepared" the SD card. 2-1/2 years ago I bought the aursense10 when the Respironics machine was recalled. Last week my provider handed me a new replacement DreamStation machine -- no instructions other than the user manual, but set up for my pressure, and no SD card. In the process of searching online for more information I stumbled upon Apnea Board, truly an awesome resource. Now I'm trying to get the most data from my CPAP machines. For travel purposes, about 3 years ago, I bought the ResMed airmini. During the winter months that I spend in AZ, I am required to fly back to Ontario every 40 days to restart my travel health coverage. The airmini makes it much less cumbersome a process, since I can carry everything I have to, including the airmini, in a backpack as carry-on that fits under the seat. Unfortunately, there is no provision for an SD card in the airmini. Since the airmini provides limited data only via Bluetooth, I wonder if there is a possibility of having an app on an Android phone that would download and save data equivalent to that available on SD cards for the larger devices.0

RE: SD card
Your question about creating an app to read the Bluetooth data has a kind of a yes and probably not answer. The "Yes" means that is doable. The "probably not" is because it requires an AirMini, the knowledge to sniff the Bluetooth communication data stream, and finally, the knowledge to write the code to complete the project. Everyone that I'm aware of that posses the talent to take care of most of this lacks the possession of an AirMini.
There is always hope. - Red
