Respironics Dream Stn Cellular in Australia
Hi all
Back after a 2 year absence on this forum...
Its a long story but I have just been given a Respironics Dreamstation as a replacement for a troublesome Respironics 560.
I notice that it has a cellular modem installed although I don't see a slot in the modem for a SIM. Does it have one? Who does it try to talk to in AUS? Can I simply remove it? (given that I don't have a relationship with any of the sleep lab industry. It's just me and my medico.)
Can someone with Australian experience please tell me if it is any practical use in this country?
Thanks in advance
David

The Modem is strictly for Sleep Centers and DME's to retrieve data. You should be able to just pull it out. Here's a link that shows how.

Thanks Walla - that’s pretty much what I understood. It just puzzles me that PR goes to the trouble of having an Australian certified Cellular modem when we don’t have the same sort of DME and Insurance industry structures to use it in the same was as it seems to be used in the US..
