VAUTO vs Autoset Question (seems ambiguous..)
I've recently switched to a Resmed Vauto to tweak my therapy further after starting to use Oscar after 2 hears, however I do not understand the following that Resmed state:
"The difference between AutoSet and VAuto is that the same amazing AutoSet algorithm is applied to the inhalation and exhalation events separately, making for a highly adaptive PAP mode of functioning."
What exactly does this mean, as if you set the pressure support to 3 to mimmick the Autosets EPR of 3 as an example, does it mean the Vauto will treat inhalation and exhalation events differently to the Autoset? Because that is how it reads. Yet I don't understand how that is possible if the pressure support is fixed.
Is it not just doing exactly the same thing as the Autoset in the real world?
Am I being stupid?
