Tube selection settings in Resmed

In Resmed settings menu (Airsense 10 and Aircurve 10) one has to select the type of air tubing used. Range: slimline (15mm), standard (19mm) and 3m.

I was wondering what difference this setting will make. And could it perhaps be used to an advantage when mixing settings with actual tubing?
For instance, if I change my slimline tubing for a standard 19mm tube while leaving the settings on slimline, what difference am I expected to experience?

The reason I am asking is that I am rather sensible to EPAP pressure. So if there's a way of actually lower the minimum of 4 than I'm happy to try it.

My experiences say that this hose setting should be on what you're actually using. I've not tried other settings than the automatically selected heated hose as I need that.

My guess; Since the hose is between the pump and the mask, a difference in cubic volume could affect compressibility. The hose is acting like an accumulator (pressure tank). This in turn would impact the timing of IPAP to EPAP changeover, as well as alter data reporting.

Interesting I have climate line tubing and I am assuming that it's not slim line. Am I correct here?

If you have Climateline tubing, a ResMed machine detects that automatically and you can't set the type of tubing. Yes, the Climateline tubing is not slim line. It is about 22mm compared to the 15mm diameter of slim line tubing.
