RE: NEW USER! OSCAR HELP!
I gave EPR 1 a try and it feels pretty good with the pressure at 8.6. I will give it a try tonight and report back to tomorrow.
Again, thank you both for your help! Have a good night!

(10-17-2024, 10:07 PM)Phaleronic Wrote: Since you're feeling tired and groggy, let's not change much with pressure, but let's decrease EPR to 1 please, this will lower your min epap pressure by 1cm, it also will help you have more restful sleep as EPR is know to cause issues with inspiration return pressure. Optimally I'd like to see you use no EPR, and see how you feel for a few nights (since you've not ever turned it off). When I was using resmed machines I slept more deeply when I didn't use EPR. When someone carefully follows the above author's comments and activity, they can conclude that he advocates using CPAP instead of APAP and not using EPR. Above, I was setting up an inexperienced user for CPAP treatment, which should align with all the teaching and advice of the said Advisory Member (at least partially because there is still an EPR=2 setting in line with the user experience). One can expect Phaleroic's agreement after all the fights he has delivered within a couple of dozens of threads during the last couple of weeks. Bot no, he is suggesting something different again. He seems to always want to provide advice that is different from the last one. Apparently, his point is that he always knows better and always disagrees. It is a sad and destructive story on a free forum like this because it confuses inexperienced users.

G. Szabo,
Thank you for the response. I really appreciate your advice and help! It’s really been helping me a lot and I look forward to your continued help as I try to dial things in with the new mask. I will try the APAP with 9.2 min/9.2 Max with EPR at 2 for tonight to see how that feels. Have a great night!

RE: NEW USER! OSCAR HELP!
Good Morning G. Szabo,
I slept really well until a little after 1 AM and then I was in and out of sleep. It felt pretty good with the constant pressure for the most part. I feel a little tired today, but not more than usual. Here is my data from last night with APAP min 9.2 and max 9.2 with EPA at 2. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
RE: NEW USER! OSCAR HELP!
Good morning avogel333,
Your figures are excellent, and you are feeling better. At this point, you should make any further minor adjustments yourself, if needed, based on your feelings. If you prefer this constant pressure, stay on it or return to the previous setting. I am happy for you. But you want to address the leaks. To help with this, you can reduce the above CPAP pressure or use EPR=3. It would be best if you decided based on your feelings because the latter minor changes in your figures are within the daily noise level. As for my suggestions and the suggestions of others: You should take care of yourself and follow the path that leads to your well-being. None on this forum can deliver medical advice. We are just trying to help based on our individual experience and understanding, which can be different. It is understandable and okay. But you should watch out for inconsistencies, especially when they show up within a single message of some individuals on this forum.

RE: NEW USER! OSCAR HELP!
Good Evening G Szabo,
Thanks again for all your help and advice. I totally agree with you and feel like I have learned enough to take it from here for now and am in a good place with my CPAP therapy and am glad I am getting good results. It did not feel that way two weeks ago so I do appreciate the support. And helping me get to that place. I will def consider those options when addressing my leaks in the future Also, yep I understand and appreciate you looking out. I will take that advice moving forward. Have a great weekend! |
