Would there be any benefit to upgrading to the AirCurve? Possibly get my Ahi lower? Would it be noticeably more comfortable?

Upgrading to a AirCurve 10 VAuto
Recently broke my Airset Autoset 10 and found someone on Craigslist selling both an Airset Auto 10 ($250 with ~2300 hrs) and a AirCurve 10 vAuto ($500 unsure on hrs but said he didn’t use it too much). Using the Airset 10 my ahi was always between 1-3 ahi and I felt pretty good. Most of my issues were from the masks itself and mouth breathing
Would there be any benefit to upgrading to the AirCurve? Possibly get my Ahi lower? Would it be noticeably more comfortable?

RE: Upgrading to a AirCurve 10 VAuto
It might be more comfortable due to the ability to make adjustments to the length of inhale, exhale, etc. Plus the benefit of being able to increase pressure support beyond 3cm.

While I don't have the symptoms that would require me to use a Bilevel/BiPAP machine I decided to do it anyway. The improvement in both treatment and comfort was considerable and it was a good move. In your position I'd get the Aircurve. You can always set it to APAP mode if you want.

If I saw an Aircurve (with low hours) for $500 on a display stand at the supermarket checkout, I'd indulge in that impulse-buying, that's for sure. (But presumably the decision has already been made? That was a week ago.) |
