For Resmed models prior to the 11 series, you can set the clock back if you have not used it in the past 2 hours. Waiting at least 2 hours after use, insures that you don't try and reset time prior to its recorded last use.

Do most people switch the time each year? We never have.

I never change time either. To me , it’s not the start and end times that means anything . It’s how long you sleep.

The start and end time is definitely not important. What is important is the bedtime. I don't think you should worry too much about it.

11 Series
Setting the time zone Before the patient is set up, ensure the correct time zone has been set. The time zone cannot be changed once patient data has been stored on the device. The patient data will need to be erased before changing the time zone. The AirSense 11 device is set up with GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) time zone settings. To change Time Zone: 1. From the Clinical Home screen, tap SETTINGS 2. Move down the menu to find CONFIGURATION options 3. Tap Time Zone 4. Select the relevant GMT setting and tap OK

Waiting at least 2 hours after use, insures that you don't try and reset time prior to its recorded last use. I use a recording pulse oximeter with my Resmed 10 Aircurve. So, it helps to have the Resmed and the oximeter on the same time zone. (My pulse oximeter automagically sets the time to my "local" computer time when I download to OSCAR). I actually believe that my Resmed 10 was incorrectly set when configured in June of this year and so it has been a pain to get the two in sync since the Resmed seemed to be an hour off from my oximeter and I refrained from messing with it at the time. I went to reset the Resmed 10 before I retired last night to the correct time and it was 2 hours off before resetting it (there's the source of some of my frustration). When I reset the hour, it appears to have reset the date to 2025 (didn't notice the change), so I went "Back to the Future" as 03 Nov 2025. Now, I can't reset it back to 2024. I "saved" my old data card and copied most of the data(only the correct 2024 data) to a new SD card. That way when I'm forced to "reset" the device in a few minutes, I'll still have my original data from my original card if needed. (I have it all stored in OSCAR to date). I remember that I had to reset my data last time this happened, so we'll go with the flow. How stupid a requirement is that? I guess this is a caution to make sure that the "YEAR" doesn't get changed because it's a big wrench in the works. It would be nice if in the future if the devices set their internal clock from the Internet to Universal Time (UT aka Greenwich Mean Time . . . sort of) and just kept track of the local time by the time zone for reporting purposes. That way we wouldn't have any of this "you can't set your device time to a previous time since everything would be recorded in a single "time zone" as UT. (Ok, so my 47 years of IT support career is coming out! . . . did you know that certain time zones in India are 30 minutes off instead of 1 hour? ). The device itself would only have a UT time it recorded and you'd just take your "local" view of the local time for reporting. None of this "set back/forward the clock B.S. Also, if you go on vacation and you could set the "local" time and it wouldn't affect your recording time (Yep, that's how someone I know intimately screwed up my equipment the previous time!). Maybe we could call it "Earth Absolute Time" (since I don't know what time zones the Martians and Jupiterians use compared to ours. . .) I actually have a Resmed AirSense 11 AutoSet that was put on the shelf because they don't make 11 BiPAPs yet??? So, that'll be another clock I'll have to reset if start using that again. Dan

That's one of the beauties about living in Arizona. No silly time changes to fret about.

RE: resmed as10, as11 aircurve 10 daylight savings time end
Just an update to my previous post about having to reset the Resmed 10 Aircurve after changing to "Standard Time" and in error changed year to 2025, necessitating the "reset" of the device to get it to change the date to the correct Year . . . because "Date and time can not be set in the past" . .
I had to "Erase Data" . . . it only appears to have only erased the data and left the configuration the same (other than it now has the correct date that I was able to set since there was no data . . . I do have the old SD card for data and also my copies of the data in OSCAR. "MyAir" seems be correct, except that the Nov 3-4 2025 data is missing, but that is expected. Dan |
