Variable Breathing/CSR?
#41
RE: Variable Breathing/CSR?
I got a new pillow 7 days ago but wanted to wait a bit before posting.

The pillow has stopped my waking up breathless, and I generally feel like I sleep fairly well, regardless of what the machine says.

I have lost 12 pounds, and quit beer Jan 2, so it's been a bit.

I've experimented with pressures and they don't really seem to make a difference other than being at 10 made me wake up and I set it back to 14, but have settled now on 12.

Here is last nights screenshot, it looks like hell. I am pretty sure the doctor is going to put me in for another sleep study, and we shall see what happens. Lots of cardio tests as well (I'm guessing they want to rule out heart failure and eventually get me out of afib).

Lot's going on for sure, and I'm not sure that there is much I can do in the short term, but I figured I post this and see if anyone else has any ideas.

I went back and reread your entire thread again as well.  Your 1st post and this last post may provide a clue.  The chart you posted in your very 1st post that was from "a year ago" looked pretty good.  But a year later, you are having multiple and clustered CA's practically all night long.  You mentioned heart failure and afib.  Just wondering if these could be the new cause of all the CA's; and if treating them might result in better pap therapy?  What do you think?

I suspect Afib more than heart failure, but until the tests are complete I'm not really sure which one or if it is any of those.

I'll just wait and see.

Thanks!

RE: Variable Breathing/CSR?
You are welcome.  Hopefully, fixing the afib (and maybe even helping the heart failure if they can as well) will lower your CA's.  If the CA's persist after all of your Cardiology appointments and possibly procedures, then a machine with a back up rate would completely stop CA's.  The ASV is for people with lots of CA's, but no other major medical problems.  ST (A) and Ivaps are for people with lung disease and neurological disorders also.  A back up rate forces a breath every "x" seconds, so no CA's will occur.
