Variable Breathing question...

Variable Breathing question...
I am brand new to OSCAR and I am trying to understand it but my brain fog is making it complicated. Last night my report showed variable breathing at 45.75% under Daily- details. Is that percentage good? Bad? I have tried to search online but I am still confused. If any could help me out that would be amazing! thank you all in advance!

RE: Variable Breathing question...
Boy do I ever detest Philips algorithms. The VB detection essentially paralyzes the auto-CPAP pressure so it becomes dysfunctional. If you are ever able to actually get a Resmed, please do so. We have a wiki on the VB algorithm taken from the patent language used by Philips. https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph..._Breathing Variable breathing should not be confused with periodic breathing. It is not an "event", and is not even recognized as a sleep breathing disorder. It is simply a variation in breathing volume from breath to breath that can have many different potential causes, or none at all. If you want to get a better idea, we would need to look at zoomed in screen captures of the flow-rate graph at a resolution of about 3-4 minutes so the respiratory wave form can be visualized. Sometimes the VB can be resolved through changes in the us of Flex type or setting. A-Flex or C-Flex can lose synchrony with your respiration and be a contributor.
