Very low pressure range seems to be right for me

RE: Very low pressure range seems to be right for me
Be careful with generalities. The blanket statement about all feeling air-starved at 7/4 is not true. Whilst you may feel air-starved at that pressure, from our experiences here that is not the case for many, if not most.

Ignoring AHI for the moment as it is just one indicator, the objective is to find SkySleep a range that smooths out the flow rate as best it can whilst also reducing events to as low as possible. It is a balancing act. If he can have a good nights rest with an AHI of 2 and minimal arousals, he may be fine with that.

Allowing the machine to titrate and find the best pressure range seems prudent as opposed to guessing at what that range should be. Whether SkySleep will use a fixed pressure or a small range allowing for some adjustment is his choice.

I am quite new to this, but...  The AHI number does say something about the number of the obstructions not about the severity of a single obstruction?
So you can have low pressure needed to bring them back to <5. The high pressure is needed if the obstruction is more severe.
Generally speaking it can be possible to need 15 or higher with a low AHI but severe obstructions and like5 or 6 with AHI 60 but only minor obstructions (possible only hypopneas).
Or am I thinking wrong here?

There's more involved here. When I set the range to, say, 7 min/12 max, or anything higher, my sleeping partner is awaken if the mask comes loose because of air noise. This is a huge problem! With it set at 7 min./7 max. (i.e., CPAP), I have: (1) able to sleep comfortably, (2) wake up refreshed, (3) partner sleeps through the night, and (4) no snoring. OSCAR data might not be happy, but I am.

Thanks, this is very clever thinking. sad enough the opposite is the case by many doctors. They say the numbers are good and then do nothing to improve how you are feeling... or at least many of them do and just send you home with an it takes time to get used to this. It takes time to recover etc. (which is true a bit too). I am hoping for that feeling you are having too... Cool
