Waking up refreshed?
I have been on my machine for about 33 days. My AHI was 85 according to the home sleep study. In the last 30 days my average is 4.1. My BEST AHI was .13 on 1/1/18. I woke up and felt super rested and refreshed. NO dozing off while driving home from work.
Last night my AHI was .72 and I woke up groggy and really tired this morning. My question is will the refreshed feeling become more consistent with time on the machine or should I expect to have some days of being super tired ? I have read that it takes a while to get settled with the equipment and become consistently alert and not tired during the day. Anyone have any answers ? Thanks in advance.

RE: Waking up refreshed ???????
Based on my own experiences, time is important to factor in here. I had to spend about 3 months on the ASV machine before I felt any better for it. I still have good and bad days after waking up. I will say the "bad" portions are less bad than in the past as well.
If you're looking for the shortest answer possible to get results, I offer "TIME and CONSISTENCY". Time per day on the machine and time using it for weeks and months pays off. Consistency in how the therapy treats you and consistency in using it seems equally important.

PS the above answer is of course assuming machine settings are optimal, which it seems that yours should be good.

Even without Sleep Apnea you can have those nights where your body doesn't get the rest it needs. If you feel good most of the time I'd say the machine is doing it's job.

RE: Waking up refreshed?
You're going to have good days and bad days. . . it's a fact of life. A low AHI doen't always mean a relaxed and restful sleep. You might be tense enough that prohibit any events from occurring and not allowing for a restful sleep. Whereas, a truly relaxed sleep will probably allow for events to occur. Instead, look for a trade off of having a relatively low AHI and feeling rested. Please don't just chase the numbers. . .like I was guilty of doing.

Thanks for your input from your experience. That's exactly what I was looking for. Today I feel terrible and yesterday I felt great and full of energy all day. My hour on the treadmill last night was a pleasure with plenty of energy left when I was finished exercising. I guess we have both kinds of days with or without sleep apnea as a factor. Thanks again.
