RE: no sleep
To all who helped with their knowledge and experience. THANK YOU!!
to answer your questions; My settings remain on auto since I rcd the machine. I had a sleep study completed at home and was set up by an RT with follow up by modem, which I never received. I have had multiple health issues including a recent open heart surgery. CPAP took a back burner since Hospital RT's took care of my needs.
As per your suggestions, I down loaded the necessary files. Talk about a learning curve!!! There is so much involved. I changed my ramp to 7.5 for 5 minutes and my pressures to 10 and high of 20. My average pressure during the night was 14. Amazing, the first night I slept from 2am through 8 am on my side!!! No leaks. My AHI went from 36 to 14! No longer gasping for breath and am comfortable with the nasal mask. I have had some restless nights, but I attribute them to the recent surgery. I have converted to normal sinus rhythm from atrial flutter and am committed to be more aggressive with medical personnel. I realize this is an ongoing process and have to find another reliable MD to help me with my CPAP needs since my current one is not helpful.
It is a shame our medical system is broken and priority is related to our shameless litigious society! I believe that is why so many of us fall into the cracks of our current medical culture and get lost. If it was not for this Apnea Board, I would have tossed that machine out. Thank you so much for your help and wisdom!
