OSCAR not picking up resetting of min pressure?

OSCAR not picking up resetting of min pressure?
Software:  OSCAR version 1.5.1 / macOS Sonoma 14.2.1
Machine:  Lowenstein Prisma Smart Max

I recently increased my APAP machine’s minimum pressure from 7.0 to 7.5 (cmH20)

OSCAR is reporting this increase as only 7.0 (rather than 7.5) in both in the Daily Page sidebar and the CPAP Statistics Page and has being doing so since the pressure was changed about a fortnight ago. (It does the same on a native Windows 11 machine).

I’ve confirmed via the APAP machine’s menus that it is actually set to 7.5 and have disconnected and restarted the power to force a re-read of the SD Card.  There have been no recent upgrades to the either the APAP machine’s firmware or OSCAR.

The change in pressure is correctly reported as 7.5 within PrismaTS (Lowenstein’s reporting software) over the same period.  I have used the same SD card to import data into both the OSCAR and PrismaTS apps each morning.

When I have previously increased the minimum pressure (from 4.0 to 5.0 and then to 6.0), OSCAR has accurately recorded these increases the following day.

I dropped the pressure to 6.5 last night to see what OSCAR would report - it reports 6.0

OSCAR would appear not to be handling the decimal part of the new value.

Any thoughts?

I've looked at the Prisma loader code, and "think" I might have found the problem. Would you please send me a zipped copy of your SD card, so I might test this? Please include your AB username in the zipped file name.

If you need help in creating the zip file, in OSCAR, go to Help > Troubleshooting > Create zip of CPAP data card (3 option in the list).

Here is the link to upload your file: https://www.dropbox.com/request/lTcfSVh0DD2oPeTPxpuV

Zip file duly sent.

Please note that I had already changed the minimum pressure on my machine, back to my regular setting of 7.5 cmH2O. This value has probably by now been written back to the SD card (and so the zip file). But my regular setting still has the 'decimal problem' - only the value on the card is now likely to read 7.5 rather than 6.5 (just in case you were on a hunt for the elusive 6.5 value!)

Good Luck!

I've received your file. That's fine about resetting it. I need a value that is not a whole number for testing.

I have corrected the anomaly and, as of this post, the update is in the merge request queue.

RE: OSCAR not picking up resetting of min pressure?
Thats great and thanks for your quick response Red.  I’ll look forward to the next build…

While the Lowenstein code is maybe still fresh in your mind, can I just take the opportunity to raise another (and possibly Lowenstein loader related?) issue.

Happy to continue this bit as another thread if it helps?

OSCAR only shows individual FL Event Flags from my imported data when my machine’s SoftPAP function (i.e. EPR) is turned on.  However Lowenstein’s 2 minute epochs of Flow Limitation (eFL) are shown in OSCAR at all times, regardless of whether SoftPAP is on or off.

The above suggests that the FL data is consistently there, but for some reason is not being shown in the Event Chart as Flags when SoftPAP is OFF, and I’m wondering if this issue is related to the loader’s or OSCAR’s logic rather than the actual data?

I’m pretty sure that I am having FLs throughout the night, but only get to see them as Flags if I turn on SoftPAP, (...or in the eFL Spans).  Only a very small proportion of the FL Flags are accounted for in the eFL Spans.

It would be ideal to see the FL Flags whether SoftPAP was on or off.

I think that much of the above stems from how Lowenstein derives and uses Epochs in its calculations.  A couple of days ago, I picked up some semi-technical/marketing material that Santé / Lowenstein had published explaining their approach to PAP therapy.  They refer to it as their ‘APAP Algorithm Document’ - It maybe helps clarify Lowenstein's approach to APAP therapy.  Happy to forward it (12Mb PDF though!).

I’d be interested to have your thoughts.

…and thanks again for your help.
