a difference between SH & Oscar

a difference between SH & Oscar
fyi.  I hadn't noticed this before.  yesterday I napped but didn't realize until afterwards I had forgotten to unlock the sd card.  in SH 1.0.0 beta 2 broken gl, the nap is included in the list of sessions in daily tab left of graphs even though no data is displayed in graphs, as expected.  Oscar ignores that session completely, no data of course but also not listed in session list. nor, apparently, is it included in statistics calculations in Oscar.

nap was 1hr13m.  time the machine was on in SH is 8:55:06; ahi = 0.34.  in Oscar it's 7:42:06; ahi = 0.39.

some max stats appear to reflect the 1% difference between SH and Oscar in value reported under Max while others show a greater discrepancy.

SH vs Oscar

mv     18.5 vs 14.38
rr       30.6 vs 23.4
lr        50.4 vs 14.4
snore   1.34 vs 0.38
insp     6.56 vs 3.61
exp      7.06 vs 3.78

oddly, max flow limitations are reported in both as 1.0

all in all, probably not a big deal but the difference does make Oscar is less accurate.

It sounds like OSCAR is ignoring summary-only sessions - maybe? This should be easy to duplicate by locking or leaving the card out during a nap? Ignoring sessions would have been a very bad design choice...

RE: a difference between SH & Oscar
maybe the stats issue I described above isn't related to the missing nap because min, med and 95% are the same between both programs, give or take about 0.01, probably a rounding difference. wouldn't min, med and 95% be off too if it was just the nap affecting the calculations? maybe a max-specific (mis) calculation? I didn't check but I remember thinking my typical nap wouldn't explain the magnitude of some of these differences. typical nap is light and uneventful with some minor flow limitations perhaps.

It does appear that OSCAR is ignoring summary-only sessions, at least for the ResMed importer (which is all I can test with my Autoset machine).  I created two sessions today: 1:03 with the card inserted.  Then I removed the card and an hour or so later, created a 0:14 session.  After which I inserted the card so it could be updated, then removed it and took it to the computer.

OSCAR saw only the first 1:03 session and reported 1:03 as usage for the day.  ResScan shows two sessions in its usage graph and reported 1:17 time used.  (I don't see a way in ResScan to create a list of sessions.  If there is one, let me know how to do it.)

I think this may explain some of the missing data reports.  I'll log this issue.

Interesting ...

I forgot to put in my SD card yesterday. OSCAR did not appear to import anything in the morning (or I didn't try after I saw the SD card not being in the machine, can't remember). The following night I did not forget the SD card. This morning I imported data from the card and now I also have a summary-only session for yesterday.

I wonder if the problem is having a mix of regular sessions and summary-only sessions in the same day?

That or it ignores trailing summary-only sessions for some reason.

Guy, does SH 1.1.0 do the same? SH1.0.0?
Just to locate the problem.

I waited until morning so I could have a third session for the same "day" on the card.  Several observations:

1) A separate problem: Attempt to import data into the same profile that I had used before.  I.e., adding more data to the same day.  OSCAR reports the day is up-to-date from the SD card even when it isn't.  I think this problem was in SH 1.0.0 too, but didn't check.  Logged as a separate problem.

2) Created a new profile and imported the card.  First and third (real) sessions were imported.  Summary-only session was ignored.

3) SH 1.1.0 crashed on the first attempt to create the new profile and import the card.  Second attempt and it imported first and third sessions, ignoring the summary-only session.  I.e., just like OSCAR, which was expected.

4) SH 1.0.0-beta-2 imported SD card into a new profile and it showed three sessions, including the summary-only session.

So this is a behavior introduced in SH 1.1.0.

I've logged this additional information and saved the SD card image for future testing.
