RE: S mode vs CPAP
I love my linux, but it is an old and very out of date Ubuntu 8.04 and will not accept sleepy until i get the new version ... but my son is the computer whiz and the administrator, and he must do the tinkering himself, a chore which he keeps resisting. (He is a born problem solver, but prefers strange new ones rather than tired old familiar ones, if you get my drift ..but I don't give up easily, and I may get there yet)

Linux is a 2008 32 bit os. can't accept sleepy until we upgrade. also tried wine, same prob, and ditto on broken gl. I know linux will accept, but getting son to spend the time on update is the real problem. I will keep at it, as I really want sleepy on my own machine. Appreciate your assistance and suggestions. jim

RE: S mode vs CPAP
Ok, I was able to install SleepyHead on my machine. I'm not ready to send a screen shot just yet, so bear with me, but here are statistics for last night @ pressure 18/13, which the sleep study technician decided on about a month ago:
9.14 hrs 11.26 AHI 0 Obstructive 3.03 Hyp: 0 CAI .19 leak rate .16 large leak 13 Avg EPAP 18 Avg IPAP 8.23 Unclassified Apnea .02 Snore My main concern is how to define the "unclassified" apneas, and how to cope with them. Dr is satisfied with the supplemental O2 at 4, and does not seem concerned about the apneas. I have a lot of respect for him, but would like to improve pressures or any other problem areas. His preferred pressures are somewhat different: 20/12, but the results have uniformly in the high moderate range. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so what measures were taken to improve things? My profile lists some other problems, which may or may not apply. Thanks. Jim

RE: S mode vs CPAP
great news, now you know your apneas are to a great extent unclassified, possibly meaning that leakage is occurring enough (during the same period as the apneas) to make it hard for the machine to decide what the pause was caused by.
Are the unclassified apneas occurring in big clumps at distinct times? QAL

As I research this problem, it appears my situation may not be that uncommon, but I have not discovered a fix anywhere. QAL, it looks like you encountered a similar problem back in January, in your post#9. Ever figure out what was going on?

RE: S mode vs CPAP
I'm still getting used to screenshots. Meant to show flow rate in previous. Here's one from 7/3; hope it is more informative.
