I have a ResMed AirSense 10, I found out the bottom of the tank nearest the warming plate, there was some condensation acting like a suction cup. A butter knife on those bottom notches did the trick.

A butter knife on those bottom notches did the trick. If you have liquid under your humidifier tub, it is most likely from a failed seal, and the container needs to be replaced. There should be no way to have condensation under the humidifier container unless you fill it with ice water. To check for leaks, put water into the container, then blow into one of the holes in the lid while blocking the other with a finger to pressurize it. If water leaks, it's done.

I have just experienced the same issue trying to release the water reservoir from the S10 Resmed.
I have been using the machine for 3 years without ever having this problem in the past and the reservoir looks and feels like new. I see the recommendation to change the reservoir (chamber) every 6 months but the issue goes beyond replacement and problem may depend on several other factors. 1) Are you using distilled water in the reservoir or using tap water which may contain minerals and the hardness of the water may cause calcium accumulation deposits and leakage? is your water safe for machine use? 2) The reservoir makes contact in the back of the machine into two clear rubber silicone cups that prevent water from leaking into the outside of the reservoir chamber. Inspecting those rubber cups for wear and calcium accumulation may be more crucial than replacing the reservoir. The cups ought to be inspected, cleaned and lubricated with a safe silicone lubricant. If water leaks through the rubber cups then the trapped water outside the chamber will cause a suction effect that complicates releasing the water chamber! 3) If the two clear silicone rubber cups get damaged and need replacing it appears that the machine needs to be serviced through an authorized distributor as I find it hard to release and replace the cups without taking it apart. Having said the above, I believe my problem started when I moved to another City and I started using tap city water. I had been using distilled bottled water for 3 years until recently, and in the last 3 months started using the City water. I checked on my silicone cups and they were building calcium from the hardness of the water. I cleaned the cups carefully and removed the calcium, lubricated the cups and since the reservoir chamber still feels like new I hope I have corrected the problem and will keep under observation. I also noticed that there was a leak because underneath the bottom of the machine where it contacted the night table the wood was wet a little bit. I hope this helps. I will investigate into a good safe silicone lubricant and will continue using safe distilled water.

Thank you for sharing. I agree. I have checked mine for possible leaks but mine does not leak so in my case what was possible besides maintenance issues I described in the previous post is to make sure the container is not overfilled with water unintentionally as the excess water can spill over as it is inserted and later cause suction force when the container is pulled out.
After two nights of using the S10 now, I am being able to pull out the container as if new without any stress to it . . .

I used a small square rubber pad to get a better grip on the container. After removing found that the metal bottom of the container was sticky. Probably something off the counter while refilling. Put 409 cleaner on a paper towel and cleaned the metal plate on the container and on the inside of the cpap. Comes out normally now.
