not sleepting well, need help

RE: not sleepting well, need help
Falling a sleep is no problem, waking up several times and early ( around 3 am) is a problem. Definitely not refreshed most days. I will try these settings and post data in couple of days.
Thanks

RE: not sleepting well, need help
Attached are two nights data using auto min 8, max 12 at 3 epr.  The night of 8/24 I slept good compared to the last few weeks. On 8/25 I slept closer to my normal erractic sleep patterns. I noticed that when the pressure changes it tends to wake me up. I beleive this happens because the f40 mask is all silicone and the pressure change alters the shape of the mask and it loses the alignment to my nostrils causing me to gasp for air. With a steady pressure that does not seem to happen. So I am interested in any opinions as to settings. I am also wondering if there is a need to address the CA's as these are the most prevelant apnea's.
My primary goal is to try and get a restful sleep. That rarely seems to happen.
Thanks for any suggestions.

The clusters of OA are positional. https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...onal_Apnea

RE: not sleepting well, need help
Thanks, I read the article on positional apnea bought a soft cervical collar and will try that tonight. Do you have any suggestions on the settings? I prefer a static CPAP setting so changes in pressure do not wake me up, but will try what is best.

EPR=3 is definitely better. There is a wee bit of positional apnoea going on, but you may be able to handle it with a flatter pillow. If it gets worse a soft cervical collar may be required.

If you want to try a smaller range, try this…

Mode APAP
Min pressure 10
Max pressure 12
EPR 3 full-time
No ramp

You may need to decrease EPR to 2 depending on how the CA’s look. You should know after a few nights.

RE: not sleepting well, need help
I would have first suggested the minimum of 9.0 plus due to Aug 25 plot, at about 22:55, where the pressure was when you started getting bumped up.  It looks like that pressure is in the range of 9.0 to 9.5. I think 10 to 12 is good per last response.

It 10 feels just too hard to relax to, then you can temporarily set the ramp to 5 minutes, starting at 8.0, without feeling any guilt.

Have a great night's sleep!
