should I use cpap pressure over autoset

should I use cpap pressure over autoset
I have been using autoset which hasn't worked well to say the least I feel like I am still waiting up and unable to sleep.
I had a titration study done and was able to sleep like a baby at the very end, well I don't know my final settings as I will have to wait another 2 weeks I do know the pressure I was on at the very end of the titration study, the pressure was 9. The question is should I stick with the known pressure or use autoset?
Thanks for your advice

For most people Autoset is the best choice.  Post an Oscar chart and we will be much better able to help you.  Smile

Most people with OSA don't need to run autoset (apap)-regardless of vendor, cpap mode is more comfortable when it's dialed in, and it has less chance of arousals. Your machine will run both modes. What are you set to now:

Min Pressure:

Max Pressure:

EPR:

Ramp:

Humidity:

I would set it to to cpap mode @ 9cm with ramp off and EPR @ 1.

I would go with.
Min 8
Max 12
Autoset for now

RE: should I use cpap pressure over autoset
I saw this thread and was intrigued. I checked my 10 AutoSet and found it set on CPAP. It's been that way since I got the machine in Sept. of 2018.

I set it to Autoset and I'm gonna see how it does.  Cool

For a titrated pressure of 9cm, I would suggest CPAP mode. And keep EPR to 0. Because the titrated pressure in a sleep study is the EPAP. And EPR of 1,2,3 will lower it by 1,2,3 cm.

Also, if the start pressure of 9 seems too much in the beginning, you can use a start ramp from the pressure you feel comfortable with.

As @Phaleronic stated, CPAP is better when dialed in. And a pressure of 9 is not much that you trade-off your sleep architecture for low pressure in your shallower sleep stages.

Also FWIW, the CPAP pressure needed may be different on a nasal pillow mask vs. a nasal vs. a Ful Face.
For me, the pressure was closer to 11 on FF but only 8 on nasal pillows.

I'm sticking with the CPAP mode. I tried Autoset and I felt like I was starving for air.  Dont-know

For an adult, anything below a pressure of 7 cm will feel as you described.  Depending on your size, even more pressure may be required to overcome this feeling.

What was your minimum pressure setting for the AUTO compared to your CPAP pressures? Also, what were your EPR and mode settings?

Generally, CPAP cannot be compared to AUTO because the setups of the AUTOs can be different. So, which AUTO setup (on devices/manufacturers' algorithms) are we comparing to the CPAP?
