ASV Settings

RE: ASV Settings
hello,
thank you for replying my messages,
If a person only has obstructive sleep apnea and does not have Central apnea and change stokes breathing, what kind of results will this person encounter in the sleep log if they use the ASV automode with the parameters of the apnea board or the manual device?

RE: ASV Settings
I can't speculate what the results would be, although with ASV Auto using an EPAP range, it should be capable of reducing events shown in OSCAR.

High leaks can force the events to go unrecorded or misread, so low events doesn't mean high leaks aren't important. And in that other chart, I didn't say high leaks with low AHI was better than high leaks with high events. High leaks are always going to be a red flag of an issue.

Hello,

I'm gonna use the AUTO ASV as the parameters of the picture. EPAP range will be 5-10 as you said. I will say about the result after that.

RE: ASV Settings
My device has a maximum BD menu. I see 1 BD 15. The apnea board I sent you does not have this number, instead there is a ramp menu. I will use 15 BD. Is there a problem?

RE: ASV Settings
I do not use automatic ASV. In automatic ASV, there is a lot of air leakage and AHI is very high.

I use the ASV device manually with the parameters on the apnea board website. However, I see a little too much hypopnea. What should I do to reduce this? Would it be appropriate if I use EPAP 7 or 8?

RE: ASV Settings
With my ASV, I had a lot of H's (and even some O'A) at pressure of around 10 EPAP and 20 IPAP.  I had "positional apnea" that was hindering the ASV's ability to correctly treat me.

RE: ASV Settings
I use ResMed AirCurve 10 CS PaceWave device.
There are 3 modes in this device: 1-cpap 2-asv(manual) 3- autoasv.
I use this device in ASV Mode(manual). If I have central apnea or obstructive apnea during sleep, will the device show these apneas? Because this device does not have these modes

RE: ASV Settings
You cannot see events on the machine. A free OSCAR download would show the event flags, pressure, leaks, etc.
