Abdulfakih - Therapy Thread

Doesn't look like fun.  You are the best judge of your sleep quality, and in the best position to figure out what works best for yourself.  I don't give much regard to a nose specialist that has the opinion fixed pressure and no EPR is how everyone should PAP.  What do you think?

Hello Sleep Rider, yes I can see that there are a lot of flow limitations and I do feel tired. How exactly can I reduce flow limitations and what causes them? Honestly I was just following her recommendations, however what do you recommend?

Flow limits need a pressure differential, in bilevel that's PS (Pressure Support), on AutoSet that's EPR running full time with enough min pressure to work. Flow limits are the beginning step to Apnea, and as they influence the CPAP pressure with ResMed, possibly others, they need addressed or therapy is terrible.

A flow limitation is exactly what is sounds like, something that is occluding or obstructing the flow of air through the passageway from the machine to your lungs and back. Nasal congestion, large tonsils, overly kinked hose, chin-tucking, etc, all impact the flow.

Understood. How do I reduce it and what can be causing it to be so high?

Is there any way to improve it? I woke up with a headache that’s killing me

What this appears to be in the scope of progression, you alternate between flow limits hindering and Central Apnea being the cause. You likely have to choose one or the other to work on. Your current AutoSet doesn't treat CA though.

Another issue is I think you've gotten a fidgety dial finger. You need to find some OK setting and let it stabilize.

Something that I have just checked is that I have always had flow limit in my data, from 0.2 to the latest being 0.3.

In the ideal scenario, how could I eliminate each of the problems individually and in conjunction? What I am trying to understand is, what settings are dependent on each of the results.

You're not going to eliminate these issues with an Autoset. The Aircurve 10 Vauto is a solution, but not that easy to get in Venezuela.

I don't think surgery fixes Apnea or flow limits very successfully. And I'm not at all sure what surgery would be offered for flow limits.
