Advice on setting pressure limits

RE: Advice on setting pressure limits
Esperanca,

The beard and full face mask are gonna be a problem, even if intermittently with leaks.
This will cause the machine to change pressures, reacting to all that going on.
And the Resmed machines really like to change aggressively as well.
That's why the pressure goes up to 15 or 16 , sits there for a bit then finally comes down.
In the meantime you get CA events due to the Co2 being washed out.
And over pressure on the inhalation can also cause OA events, cause those are controlled with your Exhalation pressure, which if is not high enough will cause OA events!

There really is a lot of evidence online to stay away from the Auto mode, and for sure you will get a lot of differing comments on that.

You seem pretty close now for the following limits

CPAP mode
9.5 or 10 cm
No EPR

I'm pretty sure we can gain a lot from either of those settings, and you did say you felt good at those pressure points in an earlier post.

If you really think you need Auto control, keep it narrow for sure!

APAP
9.5 min.  10.5 max.

Phaleronic, i like your suggestion for CPAP mode and EPR=0

I do think that pressure would be too high.
