AirCurve 10 - Where does leftover part go?

AirCurve 10 - Where does leftover part go?
I was having issues with my ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV, so I disassembled it to try to do some troubleshooting. Never mind that that was a futile effort, but after reassembling the unit, I have the pictured part left over -- a gray foam cushioning gasket. It fell out of the unit when I took it apart, but I don't know where from. You'd think the would be a telltale indication of where it fits, but I can't make it work anywhere I try to fit it. The unit apparently runs just fine without it, but I'd like to "fully" reassemble the ASV. Can anyone give me some guidance on where this foam piece ought to go?

As a new member, I can't attach images yet, so let me describe the part. It's gray foam donut that is 2" in diameter and 3/8" thick with a 1" diameter hole in the middle. One rounded notch is cut out of the outer edge.

Thanks.

The size and shape would lead me to believe that it would fit under the large selection knob.

I appreciate the input. I had tried that. The fit is awkward at best and the squished foam wants to peek out into the display area. If that is the right spot for it, I can’t achieve the proper fit. Thanks, though.

Look at about 3:30 into the video listed below.  Did you disassemble the air hose connection assembly?

EDIT: Better yet, take a look at 8:45.  This looks exactly like what you described.

I hope this may help.

RE: AirCurve 10 - Where does leftover part go?
Red, that's awesome. At 8:45 in the video is EXACTLY the foam piece I'm taking about. Interestingly, though, I did not remove the motor housing when I disassembled the unit. How can this be? My current AirCurve 10 is a unit I obtained from my DME supplier over 2 years ago as a replacement for a malfunctioning one which was still under warranty. This particular DME supplier branch did some basic repairs on CPAP units. I suspect that whoever refurbished this unit, forgot to put the foam piece back in when he or she reassembled it, then just stuffed the foam piece inside the housing. It just fell out of nowhere when I took off the housing the first time. I won't know for sure until I disassemble the unit again. Craziness!

Thanks so much for taking the time to help me sort this out.
