I live in the Fraser Valley, also covered by Blue Cross, seems I have better coverage than what you report.

Having said that, My DME clinic seemed to wane in interest once the equipment was paid for.

I have adjusted my treatment, and sent SH reports to my GP and ENT specialist, they are supportive in my self treatment and as such I have removed the Cell Modem from the APAP (clinician was re-adjusting therapy back to initial Rx).

My GP has supplied me Rx for self purchase of any equipment/supplies I may require..

Diagnosed as severe AHI 68, treatment levels are now (last 4 months) <0 .4, with many 0.0.. I no longer fall asleep mid afternoon..

It's so amazing to me that this is covered under medical in some provinces but not BC. 

Nor in Quebec.

Maybe I need to clarify further with Blue cross if it's my lifetime or the lifetime of the machine, as it talks about every 5 years.  The wording is weird. 

Maybe it's the Blue Cross "Reincarnation Special."   
Looks good for marketing purposes and I bet they rarely have to pay out.
