Apap
I bought a new Resmed10 auto set online. I wanted to find out what pressure I should be using now. (stopping Alcohol allowed me to lower pressure from Rx of 16 to 11 currently)
Last night was my first night sleeping with it.
I set it from 8-16.
My 95% pressure was 9.18 and my max was 9.82.
I have been using a straight Cpap for 11 months now.
My Cpap is a rental, and I need to keep using it for insurance purposes, or send it back. (I'll never reach my deductible anyway)
I bought new one out of pocket.
How many nights should I use the Apap to determine pressure?
Once I figure out pressure.
Is it better to use it in cpap mode at a fixed pressure, or would it be better to switch to Apap mode.
If I go with Apap, What should I set range to?
Thanks
RE: Apap
You are using a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset. With a minimum pressure of 8.0 your 90% pressure is less than 1-cm above the minimum. Assuming you had an acceptable OA and H result, this suggest you might be able to lower the minimum pressure to 7.0. If you're comfortable there is no reason to convert to fixed CPAP. Maximum pressure does not matter on that machine, since it will only go as high as needed to resolve obstructive breathing (snores, flow limits, etc.). Sounds like a great start. Give it a week or two and the results will be more meaningful, and should reflect a longer-term strategy.
Congrats! You can update your profile for machine model, and it sounds like you may actually sleep again.
