Asheville got clobbered. I live one county South. Pouring all night and woke up at 8am. A good PAP night. I woke up,  took off my mask and no air. I knew I was in trouble. 8AM was the time we lost powere here..Two bad nights and then found an Emergency Red Cross Shelter and stayed 2 nights there, a cot near an outlet...Then I decided to get out of town...

RE: Battery backup question
We considered getting me to the medical shelter one my blood pressure increased. But it was already crowded and we weren't sure we could even get there! We considered evacuation but my brother looked online for us to find a hotel and there weren't any. No way to head north to his place either. What a freaking mess. Still is.

Power was out for 12 days. Cable still not on. Cell service is still bad. We've reached out "now we're going to choke your speed" limit with T-Mobile since it is our only connection.

I live northwest-ish of Asheville, almost to the next county. Poor Marshall was almost wiped off the map.

I really appreciate your posting these items! I’m looking to do this myself. I have a couple questions about this setup.

I see this charger connects from the wall to the battery but I don’t see how the connection from the battery to the Cpap machine is made. As I understand it, it’s usually from a cigarette lighter connection to the Cpap machine connection. I feel like I’m missing a piece of this puzzle. Would you elaborate, please?

RE: Battery backup question
I provided incorrect links.  I used 2 harnesses, one to connect the Battery Tender to the battery, and one with a lighter female adapter to connect to the power supply.

These should be the correct links:
Female Cigarette Adapter Accessory:  https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-GC018-Adapte...B00G8WLW2Y

Battery Tender battery harness:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NCOKZQ
EDIT: If I remember correctly, this harness is supplied with the Battery Tender.

RE: Battery backup question
Thank you for that clarification. I’m very new at this idea.

Are you aware of a way to use a solar setup to charge the M31 battery? I live in Florida and am looking for a way to compensate for when hurricanes knock out power for days or more without spending $1000 for a Jackery or such.

RE: Battery backup question
You could try the solar panels from Harbor Freight. I use a group 27 marine deep cycle battery. I don't use a humidifier and based on my current draw, I should have over 8 to 10 days before a recharge is necessary.

Jackery units aren't $1,000. We use Jackery 240V2 units @ $179. Three nights without heat/humidity. Two nights with humidity.
Currently, Jackery 1000V2 is on sale @ $399. Four times the capacity. We do use a 12V adapter to extend runtime. Best wishes.

RE: Battery backup question
In looking at Jackery units, solar panels, etc, my main question is:

what amps/watts is the minimum we would need for ye average cpap IF cpap is the only draw?
