BiPAP Help - Round 2

BiPAP Help - Round 2
Just received a brand new Dreamstation from Philips to replace my recalled unit.

I gave up on the using cpap/bipap therapy a few years ago but want to give it a go again.

My main issues were mask leaks and difficulty exhaling.  I have solved the mask leakage by switching to a myTAP nasal pillow.

I am using settings that were last used semi-successfully.

Any help is appreciated.  Screenshot attached.

RE: BiPAP Help - Round 2
YAt least 1/2 of your apnea is positional apnea.  Positional apnea can NOT be controlled by pressure changes.  You have to find out what position you are getting into and cutting off your own airway.  Have you changed your sleep position?  Sleeping on your back?  Using more (or new) pillows?  These things can cause positional apnea by chin dropping to your sternum and cutting your airway.  Think of it of a kinked hose – nothing can get through – you have to unkink the hose…

IF you can’t make a simple change like changing to a flatter pillow helps then you will need a collar.  I have a link to collars in my signature at the bottom of the page.  It shows people who are not wearing a collar and the SAME person wearing a collar.  There is a huge difference between the two.

I don't give many people advice that have dreamstation because do not have as much experience with them over the resmed.  So I will let others help with pressures that may help.  But you can easily tell positional apnea from seeing GROUPED O and H events in the charts.

Thanks for taking a look at it.  I toss and turn all night so there could definitely be some positional issues.

What part of the chart makes that evident?  Thanks.

On the charts you put up it is on the top graphs showing your apnea events. The GROUPING of Oa events there were 2 very notable ones toward the later part and a less notable one toward the beginning. 21 events in all.
