BiPAP not working for CA

RE: BiPAP not working for CA
If we can narrow down the most effective temperature, we could try fixed pressures. The other major tweak or tool is to use EERS (Enhanced Expiratory Rebreathing Space) to increase CO2. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...ace_(EERS)

Yes, I read something about the EERS to keep CO2 level up.  May have to experiment with my ResMed nasal pillow since the short tube isn't removable. Will try with swivel vent and block the plastic mesh on the mask.

Will try the trigger at very high sensitivity next.

Thanks again -

PSlebow  -  I tripped over this while trying to reduce my Evora's noise and air blast.  Placing a piece of intake filter material over the exhaust port will produce added back pressure (exhaust restriction) in the mask.   This leaves more CO2 in the mask, which is what you are trying to achieve.  The amount of restriction depends on how tightly you affix the filter material.

I hope this may help you.

With a P10, you use the short tube as part of the EERS by plugging the vent in the mask frame with Mack's silicone putty, and installing a vent in-line before that mask tube. I like Red's idea too.

Thanks.   I might be concerned that just blocking the vents will make exhaling more difficult and uncomfortable.  Also, I'm not sure that would really leave residual CO2 to rebreathe. The good thing about the EERS is that you can fine tune things with the length of tubing to hold exhaled CO2.

So far the suggested tweaks on the BiPAP settings have made a huge difference.  May not need the EERS.
