CHanging water in Humidifier, using nasal pillows
Vendor told me to change water every other day. In reading the info on my machine and the list of cleaning instructions, it says to change water EVERY DAY (so dump it in the AM and refill at night - distilled water).
I need to wipe off the nasal pillows every day and wash once a week (when I wash everything else). What should i use to wipe off nasal pillows?

Welcome to the board. Form what I've read in other posts, just an easy wash with a mild soap like baby shampoo or liquid hand soap. You can wipe off the excess water with a soft towel and let the remainder to air dry. Your mask is liquid gel filled so don't get aggressive with it or you might get slimed during the night (from other posts). As far as dumping the humidifier each day, my equipment manual says the same thing. I do follow the manual about using distilled water but I realized that I was using up to 3/4 of a tank per night so I stopped throwing out the leftover. I now just top it off each day and then wash the tank once a week. I haven't had any problems so far.

I just rinse the pillows whenever I clean them. Lot's of running (hot) water, shake off excess water, let dry.

Many of us dump the water and clean once a week.
Do dump the water and rinse every day if you're not using distilled water.

RE: CHanging water in Humidifier, using nasal pillows
thanks. I AM going to use distilled water......I think I will just wipe the nasal pillows each morning and wash EVERYTHING once a week as instructed.
My insurance treated the machine as a RENTAL but I think at some point I OWN it. I have two diff stories on this. Ins. also pays for: monthly: Nasal pillows every 3 months: Nasal mask, tubing every 6 months: headgear, and the black filter that goes in the back (I dont know if all machines have that. I have a Remstar Auto cpap machine and a Nuance mask. I have 30 days to change out the mask if I dont like the pillows.

I dump the left over water each morning, wash/dry the tank, and refill with Sydney fresh drinking tap water at night just below the top line
Washing the cushion daily in the shower is a must, no set schedule for the rest of the stuff but keep an eye on the air filter Please spare a thought for us here in Australia, everything cost too much, I need to make my supplies last as long as possible

I know mine is a rent to own, they want to make sure you are a compliant CPAP user, before they invest in a machine that might sit in a closet , Rent two months and own on the 3rd month, I guess it makes sense , also the 3mo/mask , tubes and 6 months headgear, 5 yrs for a new machine. I wash my equipment the same way as archangle - once a week. I just keep adding distilled water to the tank every night.
