CMS50F v3.9 no longer connecting
I had used the CMS50F (firmware version 3.9) successfully from mid-2018 to mid-2019. I thought my cable had gone bad, but I got a new cable, and my windows 10 machine can no longer recognize the device. I have updated the device drivers, but I couldn't find the old driver to remove first.
I used to import using the SP02 Assistant software, and import that into sleepyhead. I know I need to install Oscar. However, I really liked the SP02 reports, and I'm hoping to get that functioning again.
My device is powered on and charged up, I hook up the usb, open SP02 Assistant, click 'connect device', "No available device(s) found!"
What can I try next?
EDIT TO ADD: holy cow, it really was a problem with the cable. I knew one cable was bad- got rid of it. Tried a second cable, and it was able to charge perfectly normally, but the computer wouldn't recognize it. Tried a third cable just now, and it still doesn't show up in the file structure, but SP02 Assistant was able to recognize it just like normal. I'm leaving this all here in case it helps someone else.
RE: CMS50F v3.9 no longer connecting
Note that the cable you need isn't just a plain USB to micro-USB cable. Contec ships special USB cables with a built-in serial adapter. So while regular USB cables may charge, they won't be able to talk to your oximeter.
Glad you sorted it out!
