CPAP Comfort Cover
I'm beginning to believe the F-20 memory foam seal may be irritating the bridge of my nose after several nights use. Even when it is new and factory clean. Searching the internet (google the subject) found something that might help. Anyone have any similar experience or know anything about the fabric covers?
Apologize for using the word G-O-O-G-L-E, it really leaves me feeling dirty.. Thanks

RE: CPAP Comfort Cover
Resmed says it's proprietary UltraSoft memory foam cushion technology. In other words they won't say what it's made out of. But weather it's air touch or the airfit it seems the F-20 causes soreness in the bridge of the nose for a lot of people.

You could try Pad-a-cheek, too.
Other posters make custom ones. I've also tried just taking a piece of paper medical tape and slapping it on there. OR try the silicon version of the same mask, Airfit F20. A lot of posters find it more comfortable than the Airtouch F20. Everything is the same except the cushion you replace monthly. Same headgear, same contraption. The cushion is a whole lot plumper than the foam. If you still have a problem, try the Airfit F10. It has a slightly different interface with the nose bridge.

I liked the airtouch but found it leaked more than the silicone one. I use a 3M Durapore tape over the bridge of my nose. Works very well. Just put a small amount of moisturizer on your bridge before you put the tape. I have been doing this for quite a while with good results.
Also the silicone f20 cushion lasts a long time.

RE: CPAP Comfort Cover
I have cushions for both the AirFit and AirTouch F20. I liked the feel of the AT memory foam, but I couldn't get a good seal. I have found better results with the silicone version. I also have found that my nose irritates the cushion.

RE: CPAP Comfort Cover
Forgot to say I use 3 layers of the tape and then place it over my bridge. It really does work great!!

The sleep study provided a MEDIUM- AirSeal as they were 'out of' Large size. I tried the MEDIUM (silicone) again to confirm it was wrong and got pressure sore from it- exactly like what happened in study. Planning on getting a Large- AirSeal on next re-supply so I can properly compare the two. I cannot conceive how a cloth can make as good a seal as silicone, but it was the idea of isolating the rubber-like material from touching skin without devaluation of the ability to seal I was after. I had tried a textured plastic surgical tape with one layer but it didn't pad much. I actually had the 3M porous tape in the drawer so will check it out. Like the idea better than a $35 piece of cloth

Tried Yankees tape idea and it still makes a red-sore spot on the snout.. Was going to get a AirSeal/silicon but sounds like it is going to be the same. Did not work for me but thanks for the feedback. |
