Need Help. CPAP therapy dialed in but stilled tired.
Hi Everyone,
I've been 3 months on CPAP, and after having some trouble with mouth leaks, and finding the correct pressure, I've finally got my CPAP pressure dialed such that my AHI is around 1.5 each night, and even then, a close inspection of the graphs shows that the most my events are mis-flagged.
But here is the kicker, I'm still tired.
Now I don't know I've how long I have had OSA for, and I'm sure I've missed out on a tone of sleep, but i wear my mask consistently for 8 to 10 hours a day, and im still tired.
After an 8 hour session of sleep at night (granted I still wake up for unknown reasons), I still need to take a 2 hour nap in the afternoon just to be functional.
I was wondering what y'all experience was after you got your CPAP therapy dialed in, how long did it take for your energy levels to come back? Should I see my doctor again and ask him what else might be wrong with me?
Kind regards,
N.

You say you still wake up during the night for unknown reasons? How long are you awake?
It may be that you are just progressing at your own rate as you adapt to cpap therapy. It can take a while. And there is no telling how long you had OSA so you may have developed some bad habits of waking during the night. You will just have to wait and see how long it takes you, but by all means meet with your doctor and check out other possible reasons.

RE: Need Help. CPAP therapy dialed in but stilled tired.
Hello,
I just had titration study done yesterday, which confirmed the pressure I'd been on was adequate (10 cm). My conscious wake ups usually involve me burping because of aerophagia, however I'm not sure if thats because of the aerophagia waking me up, or something else waking me up, then me realising I need to burp. I also apparently move my legs at night which causes me to wake up, but last time my doctor didn't think it occurred enough to be a problem.
I'm curious to see how long it took people to feel normal again after getting their OSA treated (post-dialed in therapy), I guess the last thing I need to fix in my therapy is my expectations :/ .
Kind regards,
N.

There may be something that we can see in your daily view of oscar (completely free at the top of the page. Please include the flow limit graph (graphs needed are in my signature). I suspect you have high flow Limits....
