OSCAR Data Review for New User
I've been consistently using my CPAP for over 6 months now but only feel marginally better. I've had an SD card in the machine but just finally ran OSCAR and I'm lost in the numbers.

A few notes:
  • Switched to pillows mid-January which helped leak rate quite a bit
  • Sleep test AHI was only around 15 which has certainly improved with CPAP but I wouldn't say my sleepiness is any better
  • Otherwise I consistently sleep 7-8+ hours a night and always use CPAP
Any suggestions? Can provide more screenshots if useful

Not sure if these are helpful but posting some pics of the overview page. Note March 17th is an outlier - I was sick. Same with minimal usage earlier that week (was travelling and didn't follow a normal sleep schedule). Otherwise I consistently sleep 7-8+ hours a night and always use CPAP

Bump with more data from Saturday night, including O2 ring data. I was exhausted all day Sunday... any help would be greatly appreciated!

RE: OSCAR Data Review for New User
Welcome

You have made a fine start.  I think you would feel better and have better therapy if you changed your low-pressure setting to 7 or 8.

Are you using EPR?  I'm guessing that you are, as your flow limits look good.  What EPR setting are you using, 1, 2, or 3?

I notice that as soon as you start therapy you have a bunch of obstructive apneas immediately.  Do you maybe hold your breath when you hook up to your machine or something similar?  I think that early clump of apneas are not real apneas, meaning your actual AHI is probably lower than is being reported.

I'm not sure why you aren't feeling better.  Make the change I suggested, report the result and we'll see if I or someone else can suggest something to help you feel better.  Good luck! Smile

Thank you so much for your reply!

I will bump pressure up tonight and try that for a few nights.

I think I’ve been inadvertently holding my breath while getting settled in to bed / saying good night to my partner. I never really noticed it until seeing it in OSCAR.

Yes EPR setting is 3 (was set that way when I got it).

Off topic but wondering what you think of the O2 ring?   Was the data easy to import into OSCAR?
