RE: Removing and reinserting SD Card
You have got me beat. I started in the last millennium also but with a slide rule that was handed down from Moses.

I had one of those. It too was from Moses and made of 3 pieces of stone. Ol' Moses must have had a bunch of those laying around.

Somewhere in a box, I have the paper tape to play Jingle Bells on an a Model 33 Teletype. I started my undergrad electrical engineering & computer science training in 1976. My university had a campus timeshare system and the EE department had a bunch of PDP-11s so I at least missed the punch card fiasco.

RE: Removing and reinserting SD Card
If I remember correctly, the correct instruction should read:
A:> format: C /s When I was working for tech support many years ago, I actually told a customer to do this. He asked if this would reformat his hard drive and I told him that this was the first time he had listened to anything I said in the last 2 hours. Also, I don't worry too much about writing files to the SD cards because if I don't lock the card, my Mac WILL write the SD. My Philips/Respironic machine doesn't really seem to care (although I don't make a practice of testing this out). I do lock the card when ever I transfer data to Sleepyhead on either system. BTW, I recently upgraded my Win 8.1 laptop to Win 7. Works even better now. Homer
