[Equipment] User interface nightmare - Resmed Airsense 10

User interface nightmare - Resmed Airsense 10
WHAT IS THE LEAK RATE?
I'm somewhat frustrated that my CPAP machine that does NOT display the leak rate when operating.
It does have a binary good/bad indication during a "mask fit check" (run at constant 17.8 pressure), but once the pressure starts changing (APAP mode w/14-18 limits), the various mask seals appear to start leaking before I even fall asleep.  My DME vendor claims that none of the other machines display leak rate during normal operation either.
REALLY?

I assume that when the mask has leaks, that it is not capable of operating at its best and therapy performance will be greatly degraded.

The display physical size seems to be more than adequate to report the leak rate and the data is present in the OSCAR data.
So the number IS being computed during normal operation, just NOT displayed.

I currently have tried 3 different types of masks full face, pillow, and nasal.
All have different seal issues.

OFF AXIS VIEWING ANGLE IS RIDICULOUSLY SMALL.
Other gripe is that the display has a VERY limited off axis viewing range of only a few degrees.
As others have stated, the display brightness is also often too dim and makes the problem much worse.
Seems like both of these issues have been corrected (allowing +/- 45 deg) in most other commercial displays for at least 20 years.

MASK VENT HOLES
A couple of my masks vent out the front of my face and have VERY high air flow rates.
This makes it impossible for my spouse to get anywhere near me when using these.
The other mask/harness (nasal pillow) vents upward at a rate only 10% the flow rate of the others.
It also has the worse leaks of the 3 masks/seals I've tried, but doesn't blow air in the wife's face.
Seems the harness and masks should be more modular and any mask should work on any harness, but that appears to be beyond current state of the art.

ARE THERE SOLUTIONS with other products?

I use the Amara View full face mask and have tried others. Regardless, I have never been able to maintain a good seal above 14. Fortunately, my sleep apnea is well treated between 9 and 14. It generally averages in the high 13s.

How is you APA at lower settings? 18 is very high.

Jeff
Sleep is worth the effort.

The firmware of the device can be hacked to display this info in realtime. But that's beyond the capability of many.
