Airsense 10 Autoset Too Much Pressure?

Airsense 10 Autoset Too Much Pressure?
New to this great forum - I've been using the Airsense 10 for 6-7 months and some nights I get this massive airflow coming into my F20 full face mask which wakes me up.
It seems the only way to stop the strong airflow is to turn the machine off and then back on (sometimes 2-3 times a night). This doesn't happen every night but maybe 3-4 times a week.
My sleep study had me at AHI 6 (allegedly)
My machine has me at an average AHI of 1.1
The machine is set to Auto 4cm to 20cm and EPR Level 1
Ramp is set to Auto.

I believe a setting or two needs to be adjusted but I have no idea where to start.
Thanks for any and all responses.

Welcome

For us to help you we need to see Oscar charts.  At the top of each page, you'll see a link to Oscar in the black section.  Click on that and you'll find instructions on how to use it.

Welcome to Apnea Board!

Your machine is at default settings.  Although, with an AHI average of 1.1 AHI, you're not doing too bad.

I suspect that what you're feeling may be the result of flow limitation causing your pressure to ramp up high.

Let's try to narrow your pressure range to minimum 7cm, maximum 15cm, with EPR set at 2.
This will give us some idea where to go from there.

We need to see some data......  Download the free OSCAR software.  Be sure you have an SD card inserted while you sleep.  After a night or two, come back to this thread and post a couple Screenshots from the Daily Page.

Use the links below in my Signature Line to guide you.

Thanks for the quick responses. I had no clue what OSCAR was before I joined this forum so I will download it and see if I can post some data soon.

Welcome to the forum MiRock72 Smile

As Opalrose stated please for now set your machine to these settings:

minimum 7cm, maximum 15cm, with EPR set at 1, ramp OFF

For now this will narrow down the pressure range and help with sleep-once we have Oscar data after this settings change we can see how you're doing with therapy.

Here is a couple of screenshots from one night's data after changing the settings to 7 and 15 with EPR 2.
Let me know if I should post a few more nights or maybe less detail.
Thanks again for your help.

RE: Airsense 10 Autoset Too Much Pressure?
The problem is evident.  You have quite a bit of mask leaking.  The algorithm tries to compensate by increasing the air flow during high leaks.  Some folk are more sensitive to increases in pressure.  We can lower the maximum pressure to 12, but at the same time you'll need to figure out how to control the leaks.

Do you move around at night?  Or you are laying in a way that your pillow pushes on your mask?

Read through the Mask Primer for tips on fitting your mask.  Be sure to read through to the end to this article:  https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph..._Jeffy1958

When you repost a chart, eliminate the calendar so that we can see all the statistics and settings.

Just want to add, that if you feel you are overly sensitive to pressure swings, we can try Cpap mode, with a steady pressure of 7, EPR set at 1. But try to get the leaks under control.

RE: Airsense 10 Autoset Too Much Pressure?
Thank you and your answer makes perfect sense.
Since I've been doing my cpap machine the mask has been the most frustrating part. I started out with a nose pillow mask and after a week I had a crazy rash around my nose. In thinking I was allergic to silicone I switched to the full face mask with foam thinking this would be better since I'm a mouth breather.
After a while it didn't seem to seal very good after multiple daily adjustments so I decided to try the silicone full face mask which is where I'm at now (guess I'm not allergic to silicone) and obviously I'm still not getting a great seal all of the time.
I will leave my settings at 7 / 15 / 1 for now and focus on getting a good seal.

Thanks again!
