CA is not harder to treat, it just required a different device. My question about the quality of your insurance was purposeful, to see what the best approach to getting that treatment might be,

sleeprider, I don't have insurance (UK based), but I am in the pipeline for treatment with the NHS (but it can take months). I decided to take matters into my own hands, got a private test and then purchased an Airsense 10 last week based on a single consultation with a private doctor. 

My thinking is, if this is CSA I might be able to get resmed to accept my returning the Airsense 10 autoset for an AirCurve 10 ASV.

I'm also in the UK and my private health insurance wouldn't cover a CPAP machine. I was referred to an NHS hospital Sleep Unit who prescribed a Sefam APAP machine free of charge. However, I was locked out of the unit and didn't get on with it very well so opted to buy my own Resmed machine out of pocket. I assume stanleyjack may be in a similar boat.

In case you do need to switch machine, bear in mind that Resmed UK provide a 14 day return window on machines and masks @stanleyjack. You just need to initiate the return process within 14 days of your purchase and then you have an additional 30 days grace to complete the return, else the return is cancelled. May give you some breathing room if you need to go back to the drawing board.

hey sunlight, that's my thinking too. Just sent resmed an email. not ideal, but even if they don't allow the return (which I expect they will, I will buy another if need be and whack the former one on ebay).

Better to keep your options open at this point than risk throwing good money down the drain.

You can initiate the return process by logging into the Resmed UK store and then navigating to the My Orders page from the Welcome <Name> menu. Click Details next to the relevant order and you'll see the Return order button at the bottom of the page to kick off the return process.

If I were you I'd try to log as much data as you can from the machine whilst it's still in your hands just in case you do need to send it back, as you can take that data back to your private doctor who may be able to use it to justify a prescription of one of those BiPAP machines that don't appear to be available via retail channels.

ASV would be available with the Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV or CS Pacewave in parts of Europe. To help you better understand how it works and how easily it is titrated, read the Resmed Sleep Lab Titration Guide starting at page 28 https://document.resmed.com/en-us/docume...er_eng.pdf We have had members from the UK buy out-of-pocket from Supplier #2 in the U.S. to avoid delays from the NHS, or you can go through the prociess of discussing your case with NHS consultants and hopefully getting the ASV machine. The settings I described earlier will quickly tell us the potential of getting the CPAP to address your sleep breathing disorder, but I think it's worthwhile to think how you will navigate your health system or acquire the right machine if the outcome is not a significant improvement.

right, I just clicked they don't sell the ASV models in UK, gah! I dislike this sort of gatekeeping.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the AirCurve 10 ASV is the US model known as the AirCurve 10 CS PaceWave in the UK. They may just use different model names for certain regulatory markets or something.
