Caution - If you have a back up machine
I have a back up AS 10 that just sits in the closet in case my main machine breaks. During my blower motor replacement I was going to replace the button battery on the PC board but never did.
Out of curiosity I emailed Advans cpap repair .
Supplier #28 and ask him just how long does this button battery last and what does it do . Below is his response. This may be a concern for others.
The battery can last anywhere from 5-7 years. It's function retain memory. Once it is dead, the control board will need to be replaced. The battery is part of the control board and not replaceable.
Sincerely,
Advans CPAP

Not so, if you know how to solder. This battery is available from Mouser and DigiKey.

Red, I bought that battery just never attempted to install it. Have you or anyone else on here successfully installed one?

I know I can get the old one out and install the new one, I just don’t know what happens when there’s no battery in there.
RE: Caution - If you have a back up machine
It would reset back to factory defaults.

Well, then there’s probably no reason to change it then. Once it’s plugged in and manually set your pressure , it should work fine.
RE: Caution - If you have a back up machine
Yep! The battery backup only comes into play when there isn't an external power source.

Good stuff to know.

I have a couple of Vauto machines that sit in the closet without power. This is probably something I will eventually deal with. Thanks for the heads-up. Why would they solder the battery rather than just install in clips?
