Cost of Diagnosis if uninsured

Cost of Diagnosis if uninsured
Hi All,

It is likely my son-in-law has apnea and I'd like to see him get a diagnosis and be set up with therapy. Do any of you have any idea what the most affordable starting cost would be for a sleep study paid out of pocket? I know what the equipment costs are but have no idea about the sleep study part. Is there any way he can find out ahead of what the cost is? I assume he needs a GP to even "prescribe" the study itself yes?

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. I'm afraid the cost is going to keep him from getting diagnosed and treated.
He's generally healthy, only slightly overweight, but snores plenty and sleeps terribly.

RE: Cost of Diagnosis if uninsured
Hello, A quick google search for “ home sleep study “. Returned a company called Lofta. $189.0
I am sure there’s others, but maybe email a few and ask some questions.

When I did my home sleep study, the results were sent to my pcp and myself with the recommendations for treatment for a apap device and wide open 4 to 20. It was signed by there in-house sleep specialist and my DME filled the order.

NightyNight and Opal Rose, thank you both for this. I will look into these for him and see if I can talk him through getting processed.

So grateful for this board even though I've been away for a while!
